Employment Action Plan
An Employment Consultant will help you prepare an Employment Plan. This is
the first step toward getting a paying job. This plan will help you to prepare
for, obtain and maintain employment. The job you are looking for can be full-time, part-time, contract or self-employment at minimum wage or better.
Labour Market Information
An Employment Consultant will research your employment goal on the internet.
This will tell you information such as the wage range, skills involved in your
job, and the percentage of openings in the chosen job. We also contact three
employers to find out what their hiring is going to be like in the next few
months. This information is another part of the Employment Action Plan.
Unpaid Work Experience
An Employment Consultant will set this up. It usually lasts 4-8 weeks but can
go longer. This service allows you to time to:

assess and develop work habits

identify interests and abilities

assess and develop work tolerance levels

obtain work experience and references
Job Developing
An Employment Consultant will help you:
Job Coaching
The Employment Consultant will provide the following services:

be at your job site to help you learn the job

help you learn how to use equipment

introduce you to your co-workers and help you build relationships

help you in solving any difficulties you may have at your job
-
change the way a job is done so that you are able to do it
Travel Route Support
The Employment Consultant will help you find the correct bus route and times.
They will also ride the bus with you to ensure you know the route before taking
the bus on your own.
Supports Co-ordination
An Employment Consultant will help you:

carry out the steps in your Employment Action Plan

motivate and help you stay focused on reaching your employment goal

help you make decisions around your employment goal/plan
-
speak with other service providers/employer with you and on your behalf
Job Maintenance
An Employment Consultant will:

meet with you at your request

meet with your employer at their request (you will be included in all
meetings)

help you with job performance issues
-
help you meet goals set by your employer
-
help your employer do performance reviews on you and attend with you, if
requested

provide re-training to you
-
help you and your employer with modifications/adaptations
-
help you with punctuality/attendance issues

help you to become part of the work team
